Functional Definition:

Amines are compounds with the basic structure -N(R)3 and originate from ammonia (NH3). Amine derived compounds are prevalent in our every day lives and in our areas of study. For example the fungicide EDA is commercially used in agriculture to prevent rusts, blights and mildews.

Some examples of amines are shown bellow along with their IUPAC names.
