Functional Definition: 

London dispersion force is a very weak intermolecular force that behaves like a split second dipole. At points where electrons are either centrally located or dispersed away from a point between two molecules a short temporary dipole exists. It is believed that all molecules experience London dispersion forces because of the constant movement of electrons within them.
